Reclaiming My Time: An American Griot Project
The American Griot oral history project in which Maria James-Thiaw interviewed women over 65 about their memories of the Civil Rights era is coming to life on stage at the Capital BlueCross Theatre at Central Penn College on March 8 – 11th. American Griot Project Residency
This project teaches students the value of history, communication skills and writing skills. Students are able to conduct oral history and then translate the stories they collect into poetry. They work together to build a performance for friends and family at the end of the residency. (10 – 20 days, through Jumpstreet Artist in Residency program)

These workshops are for poets interested in honing their craft or learning more about the art of poetry writing or performance.
